As you get closer to meeting your little one, it’s helpful to include gentle, supportive foods in your daily routine. These labour prep treats are packed with nutrients and herbs traditionally used to help the body prepare for birth. They’re easy to make, delicious and perfect for the third trimester.
1. Labour Prep Protein Balls
Dates are known to help ripen the cervix and may support a smoother, faster labour. These protein balls are a great way to get your daily dose.

- 1 cup almond butter (or any nut butter)
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tsbsp Bee Ready Herbal Electuary
- 1.5 cups rolled oats
- 6 scoops chocolate protein powder
- 3 tbsp cacao powder
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
- 4–6 tbsp water
Instructions:
Blend everything except the water and chocolate chips in a food processor until it forms a dough. Add water slowly, then mix in chocolate chips. Roll into balls and refrigerate.
2. Chocolate Covered Dates with Bee Ready Herbal Electuary
This is a sweet, functional treat that supports your body using our Bee Ready Herbal Electuary. It’s great for calming the nervous system and gently supporting the womb.
You’ll need:

3. Red Raspberry Leaf Iced Tea with Pineapple Juice
Red raspberry leaf is a traditional herb used to tone the uterus and support efficient contractions. Pineapple juice adds flavour and contains bromelain, which some believe may help soften the cervix.
You’ll need:
- 2–3 tablespoons red raspberry leaf
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/2 to 1 cup fresh pineapple juice
- Lemon juice
- Honey (optional)
Instructions:
Steep the red raspberry leaf in boiling water for 10–15 minutes, then strain. Once cool, mix with pineapple juice, lemon and honey to taste. Serve over ice for a refreshing labour prep tonic.
