
Labour Prep Tea
A nourishing blend to support hydration, cervical ripening and labour preparation
✨ Ingredients:
- 2–3 tablespoons Lotus Pēs Labour Prep Tea (loose leaf) or 2–3 teabags
- 3–4 fresh okra pods, sliced
- 1 cup 100% pineapple juice (unsweetened if possible)
- 1 cup cranberry juice (pure juice or low-sugar)
- 2–3 cups hot water
- 2 teaspoons Lotus Pēs Bee Ready Herbal Electuary
✨ Method:

Prepare the Tea Base:
- Add your Lotus Pēs Labour Prep Tea into a large heatproof jug or teapot.
- Pour in 2–3 cups of freshly boiled water.

Allow it to steep for 15–20 minutes until well-infused.
- Add your Bee Ready Herbal Electuary

Prepare the Okra:
- Rinse and slice the okra pods lengthwise.

Place them into a clean glass jug or jar.

Combine:
- Once the tea has cooled slightly (warm, not hot), strain and pour it over the okra.

Add the pineapple and cranberry juice.

Infuse:

Cover and let the mixture sit at room temperature or in the fridge for at least 4–6 hours (overnight is best). This allows the okra mucilage (the gel) to release into the tea.

Serve:
- Stir well before serving.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy chilled or gently warmed.

Optionally, add lemon slices or honey to taste.
✨ Tips:
- Drink 1 to 2 cups daily in the last weeks of pregnancy if approved by your healthcare provider.
- Always check with your midwife or doctor before using herbal blends, especially in late pregnancy.
- Keep refrigerated and consume within 2 days.
